Wiregrass Ranch High School Alumnus Kyle Prisco of Wesley Chapel, Florida has sadly passed away. He died on after being shot on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in New Tampa. He was announced dead on Wednesday by his father through a post that reads “I did not want to post this, was hoping it was a horrible dream . My amazing son was robbed, shot and killed two days ago. I was so blessed to have him as my son , trying to get thru this, wiping away tears.”
How did the incident happen?
A man was gunned down near Regents Park Drive and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, transforming the typically serene suburban scene into a sprawling crime scene investigation. The shooting occurred at one of New Tampa’s busiest intersections, adding to the urgency and complexity of the investigation. Authorities swiftly cordoned off the area with crime scene tape, drawing attention to the stark contrast between the crime’s severity and the neighborhood’s usual tranquility. A white Mercedes, now adorned with yellow evidence markers, stands at the center of the scene, its presence a grim reminder of the violence that unfolded.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is leading the investigation. According to preliminary reports, the victim was shot at the intersection, but details about the events leading up to the shooting remain scarce. On Tuesday 18th June 2024, Danielle Henry set up a GoFundMe in order to “Help Ease the Burden for Kyle’s Family” in these trying times. The goal set was to raise the sum of $30,000 but at the time this report was published, the sum of $7,615 has been raised with the help of 107 generous individuals.
An excerpt from the account reads “I’m Danielle Henry, and I’m collecting donations for our longtime friends who suffered a devastating loss yesterday. Kyle Prisco, a dear friend of ours, passed away tragically in New Tampa, following a shooting at Bruce B. Downs. The perpetrator has yet to be identified for this heinous act.”
